65 Books You Need To Read In Your 20s, via Buzzfeed

I saw this post on Buzzfeed and I’ve read … one. Yes, one. I read Tina Fey‘s Bossypants and definitely agree that it should be included. Unfortunately, I have no opinion on the other 64 books. I’ve started a few of them (The NamesakeA Heartbreaking Work of Staggering Genius) but never finished them. (If I’m not into a book, I don’t see the point in finishing it.) I’m also sad that my favorite book, The Great Gatsby, wasn’t included.

I have 10 months left in my 20s, but I can’t read 64 books. I want to know—which ones should I read? How many of the 65 have you read?

  1. Oh, dear. Seems like I’m joining you in having only read one book out of this entire list: “Never Let Me Go” by Kazuo Ishiguro (which I recommend). I’ve gotten somewhat through Zadie Smith’s “White Teeth” and most of Neil Gaiman’s “Sandman” (which I also recommend, if you’re into the genre of his books), but wouldn’t exactly count them as a complete read. I’ve also owned Betty Edwards’ “(The New) Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain” as a textbook, because I was a design student. Perhaps it’s time to break it out again.

Thanks for sharing this post. Great blog you have here!

  2. I’ve read four. Yes, Elements of Style (if you do any kind of writing in your career) is a must read!

Hemingway is wonderful for any season. I completely agree with what was written in the description.

  3. Read these ones. Even if you have already surpassed your twenties.
    Ready Player One
    The Bell Jar
    On the Road
