Review: Stitch Fix #9 (or the one without makeup)

SF9

It took me a little time to get to this Stitch Fix, so the photos were snapped this morning by my husband and I’m completely without makeup. You’ve been forewarned.

Stitch Fix review

My last Fix was less than stellar, which my stylist, Kate, noted. I’m glad that she acknowledged that because it made me feel like she really tried to make up for that this time.

Stitch Fix review

I was definitely loving the patterns and colors as soon as I opened the box. Per usual, I asked for most work-appropriate blouses, and received four at $48 each and a $68 dress.

SILVIA MIXED MATERIAL KNIT SHIRT

I actually kind  of liked this when I pulled it from the box, and it’s super, super soft. I can’t say that I like it on as much, though, and I felt like I just wouldn’t wear it often. (I look thrilled, right?)

Verdict? I know I should branch out, but I just couldn’t do it.

AMANI COWL NECK SLEEVELESS BLOUSE

Jewel tones! Draped neck! This one spoke to me. It fit well, I love the color, and it has an adorable silver apple weight inside of it to keep the cowl neck pulled down. (I’m talking to my cat in this pic.)

Verdict? Kept it!

DARCY WEAVE JERSEY T-SHIRT DRESS

Oh, no. I didn’t love it when I took it out — it has some weird ruching happening — and it was worse on. Tight, unflattering — just an all-around no.

Verdict? Ick. (My face says it all.)

DENOVA DOT PRINT BLOUSE

I love the look of this and I recently purchased two shirts with the solid-colored sleeves and printed shells. Unfortunately, I bought those for $16.99 each at TJMaxx, so spending $48 on a shirt that’s pretty trendy just didn’t make sense to me.

Verdict? Liked it a lot, but sent it back.

SHIVA GRID PRINT MIXED MATERIAL TOP

Ditto to the above. I also didn’t really love the pattern, but the colors are really pretty. (Again, the cat strolled by.)

Verdict? Sent it back.

Overall, it was definitely better than last month. I liked the colors and patterns a lot, and, aside from the dress, everything fit really well. The cowl-neck top that I kept is definitely not a venture outside of what I normally wear, but if I’m spending $48 on a shirt, I want to know that I’ll wear it a lot.

Have you tried Stitch Fix yet? Should I have kept anything else?
