Oops. I kind of fell off the radar, didn’t I? I’ve been pretty busy, so let me catch you up.
Two Saturdays ago, I ran the Baltimore 10-miler with Dianne and Jon. I forgot my watch! I am the world’s WORST pacer, so I wasn’t shocked when I saw that I did my first mile in 8:02. (Fortunately, my FitBit has a timer.) Um, I was trying to do 9-min pace. My average pace for the first five miles was around 8:30 pace, but dropped to 8:59 pace by the end of the race. I finished in just under my 1:30 goal, so I was happy.
(I’ll be back for a new PR next year, Baltimore 10-miler!)
The next day, I hopped on a plane bound for five days in Chicago for a work trip. Each year, we pick a handful of amazing success stories and spend a week at the spa, shopping with personal shoppers, and doing a photo/video shoot. It’s exciting, rewarding, stressful, and exhausting.
Fortunately, I work with the most amazing people and got to spend evenings unwinding with them. Hallie and I took an architecture boat tour and we all wined and dined.
Those limited days wasn’t enough time in Chicago, so I definitely plan to go back ASAP. At the end of the week, we cheered for our amazing weight-loss success stories and to the dynamic photography duo of Rob and Lindsay. (We flew those kids in from NYC just for this — they’re that good. They’re also a damn good time.)
When I got back to Baltimore, I was overwhelmed by how many awesome (and free!) things were happening in Baltimore over the weekend. While Saturday ended up being a little rainy, Sunday was glorious for FIT+ at Harbor East, where Katharine and I joined in for a free yoga class.
Namaste, friends. I’ll be back soon.
